Tennis is everywhere with many clubs and
courts available to play all year round.
Sailing with more than four marinas it is
a sailors paradise with boats to rent.
Watersports – Many different watersports
are on offer all along the Costa Blanca - sailing,
windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing, rowing, water skiing.

Horse Riding – there is a local stable near Torrevieja.
Hiking – There are easy to moderate walking routes from
town into the hills and across cliff ridges, with expansive sea views.
Cycling – There are routes around the Mar Menor for which route
planners can be obtained.
Be Pampered
Indulge yourself in the little spa village of Balneraio de Fortuna,
25 km north west of Murcia where you can relax with a thermal
massage and soak in the spa bubble bath. There is also a wonderful
outdoor swimming pool.
Boat Excursions – take a sail to Isla de Tabarca, a
marine reserve. Great for snorkelling.
Costa Blanca Express
All children will enjoy a ride on this narrow-gauge train which
ambles up the cost from Alicante to Denia stopping en route.
Aquapark
A big aquapark with pools, hydrotubs and plenty of slides and
rides with water mountains and artificial waves is located at
Torrevieja.
Esplanada de Espana Alicante’s waterfront promenade
is one of the most beautiful in Spain. The broad pth of wavy
coloured tiles runs between towering palms, making a shady place
to observe Spanish city life over a coffee or an ice cream.
Paseo Maritmo – Alicante’s portside promenade is the
place to head for summertime entertainment. From mid July to
the end of August, there is an international festival of music,
dance and theatre with performances ranging from jazz and ballet
to symphony orchestras and opera, all in the open air.
Fiestas
The festival of Sevillanas dance held in Torrevieja in May is
an opportunity to see at first hand this beautify traditional
dance while enjoying a Tapas and a glass of sherry which is
usual during Sevillanas.
Easter parades takes place each evening during Easter week
(Semana Santa) with processions through the town of floats
and bands together with exquisite costumes worn by the participants.
These spectactular events start in the evening and finish around midnight.
One of the most important festivals in Elche is the Misterdi d’Elx, a medieval
religious play which takes place in August. The performance is very
professional, a colourful drama of singing and music.
The Fesitval of Medieval and Renaissance Theatre and Music, takes place
In Elche at the end of October/beginning of November in every even-numbered year.
Cartagena has a long programme of festivals throughout the year. In February,
there is a lively carnival. Easter Week sees a variety of processions and marching
bands. One of the most important festivals is the ten-day Carthaginian and Roman
fiesta in the second half of September with mock battles, legions of marching Roman
and Carthaginian troops, and fireworks. Both sides set up historical camps, with
food and drink to reflect the era, then party the night away to modern dance music.
